Kalman Filter

3D Tracking of a vehicle is simulated in MATLAB using Kalman Filter for precise localization. It is assumed that finding position of the vehicle via its dynamic model is affected by Gaussian white noise, therefore GPS data is also used to correct the position. TRemote SerialPort is an application to connect two serial ports via network. Therefore you would be able to send command to a serial port remotely and receive command answer over a network.
The software has two modules: Sending Module and Receiving Module. Each module can perform in two modes: Application Mode and SerialPort Mode.
Application mode in Sending module is for sending command from computer but in SerialPort mode, the software receives data from a COM port first and then sends it through network.
Application mode in Receiving module displays commands sent by Sending module on computer and in SerialPort mode, the software launches received command on the COM port selected by user.

Regression using Wavelet Neural Network

This VB.NET source code uses Wavelet Neural Network to approximate single-variable functions. Training data should be inserted to the Access database for supervised learning. User is able to select number of processing neurons, learning rate and learning iterations. The project has the feature to plot approximated functions.

Shaft Designing using MATLAB

A shaft is a rotating member, usually of circular cross section, used to transmit power or motion. It provides the axis of rotation, or oscillation, of elements such as gears, pulleys, flywheels, cranks, sprockets, and the like [Shigley’s Mechanical Engineering Design]. Main goal of a mechanical engineering for designing a shaft is to determine shaft average diameter.

In ShaftDesigning source code, user should determine design factor, stress concentration factors, Marin factors, maximum bending momentum, maximum torsion, shaft material properties and initial value for shaft diameter on the . Then the source will calculate a good approximation for shaft average diameter by fixed point method. Combination of Von Mises yield criterion and Soderberg criterion are used for dynamic designing.

ShaftSolver source code is an additional tool for calculating bending momentum and torsion on the shaft. The code also solves supports forces and plots total momentum diagram based on elements used on the shaft.

Fedora is based on a new way of sketching and designing using SolidWorks. New kinds of material property are used for rendering.

Using SolidWorks to design an hourglass

Designing an hourglass by Solidworks is so easy:

1. Create a 2D Sketch on Front-plane.
2. Start drawing a glass profile on the plane.
3. Use Revolve Extrude to create a glass.
4. Then make a new 2D Sketch on Top-plane for drawing a lid.
5. Draw a circle on the Top-plane Sketch.
6. Create the lid via Extruding the circle.
7. After that use Mirror feature to make the copy the body in other side.
8. Now you can create a support.
9. To have three supports, use Circular pattern.
10. Finally filleting edges.
